Read the location line properly
- "Remote" on its own means nothing. Keep reading.
- "Remote, US only" or "must be authorised to work in the UK" means no, regardless of how remote the work is.
- "Remote, EMEA" or "anywhere with four hours overlap with CET" usually means yes.
- "Contractor, global" is the most open framing you will see and is worth prioritising.
Getting paid
Most companies hiring from Nigeria will engage you as a contractor rather than an employee, which means you invoice them. Sort out how you will receive money before your first payday, not during it, and keep records because you are responsible for your own tax position.
