About the role
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to oversee accounting operations, general ledger integrity, reconciliations, fixed assets, and transaction controls across the group.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee accounting entries, journals, accruals, prepayments, and supporting documentation.
• Maintain GL integrity, accurate coding, postings, and resolution of suspense items.
• Manage bank, payment gateway, clearing account, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules, and supporting records.
• Support month-end close through trial balance schedules, journal packs, and reconciliations.
• Ensure proper revenue and expense cut-offs
• Strengthen accounting processes, controls, documentation, and audit readiness.
• Work with Tech/Data to improve automation and reduce accounting errors.
• Support Internal Control reviews and resolution of findings.
Requirements
- Requirements:
- • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- • ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent strongly preferred.
- • 10+ years' experience in accounting operations, journals, reconciliations, and GL
- management.
- • Experience in retail, e-commerce, distribution, or high-volume environments is an advantage.
- • Strong ERP/accounting systems, spreadsheet, payment gateway, and POS reconciliation experience.
- • Strong knowledge of accruals, prepayments, cut-offs, fixed assets, and financial controls.
- • Strong attention to detail, organisation, ownership, and ability to work under pressure.
