About the role
The Network Security Officer will be responsible for protecting the bank's network infrastructure through effective firewall administration, network security monitoring, vulnerability management, and secure network configuration.
Key Responsibilities
• Configure, administer, and maintain enterprise firewalls and network security appliances.
• Manage firewall policies, security rules, NAT, VPN, security zones, and network segmentation.
• Conduct periodic firewall rule reviews and identify unnecessary, expired, duplicate, or high-risk rules.
• Ensure firewall rules comply with least privilege and approved business requirements.
• Monitor network security events, analyze firewall/network logs and investigate suspicious activities.
• Support network security incident response and collaborate with SOC/SIEM teams on investigations.
• Identify network vulnerabilities and configuration weaknesses and coordinate remediation.
• Support network vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits.
• Participate in network architecture and infrastructure security reviews.
• Ensure network security changes comply with approved change management and security standards.
Requirements
- • Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, engineering, or a related discipline.
- • 3-5 years of relevant experience in Network Security, Network Administration or Cybersecurity.
- • Strong hands-on experience in firewall configuration, administration and rule management.
- • Good knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, VPN and network segmentation.
- • Experience with IDS/IPS, NAC, VPN and network monitoring technologies.
- • Ability to analyze firewall, network and security logs.
- • Knowledge of network vulnerability assessment and penetration testing.
- • Familiarity with SIEM and security monitoring platforms.
- • Experience with Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco or equivalent firewall technologies.
- • Experience within a financial institution or regulated environment is an advantage.

- • Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA)
- • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

- • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
- • Other relevant network security certifications.
